When it’s time to shine, be the brightest!

Hello, Love

Many of us beat ourselves up because we are not as successful as we’d like to be.

If you ever felt you aren’t where you want to be in life, you’re really going to resonate with today’s self-compassion mentor, Deshun Wang.

Deshun was recently dubbed the “world’s hottest grandpa” after a surprise modeling gig. He never intended to strut down a runway nor did he intend to become an internet sensation, but at 80-years old he is. And what makes his story even more beautiful is the way he describes his success.

To prepare for this day, I’ve been getting ready for 60 years,” he shares.

You’re really going to love his story.

For me, Deshun’s words redefine how I view success. They make me realize that every skill build and every ounce of energy I put into myself lay the ground work for success.

Today’s Self-Compassion Challenge:

Take a moment and ask yourself, “Do I feel like a success?

If so—then relish your success and take time to honor and celebrate what you did to get where you are today.

If not—examine the things you’re currently doing to create your success, as well as, the things you’ve already accomplished. Compassionately honor each skill you’ve developed and each step you’ve taken toward your dream or goal.

Then allow yourself to ponder the possibility of experiencing success. Get clear about what success feels like to you and how your life will look. Jot down any thing you come up with and read it from time-to-time so you can gently tune yourself to receive all you desire.

In the mean time, dear one. Don’t let your current level of “success” define who you are. Every day in every way, you are getting better and better and better. As Joe Girard says, “The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs… one step at a time.

Climb on,

  1. I appreciate the wisdom in Deshun’s words and life. I note in the video that he works out with weights, something I do every day as well. At 75 I am just five years behind him, but it will be a challenge to duplicate his physique five years from now!

I feel at this point in my life that I have achieved success, for I am doing exactly what I came on earth to do. I have awakened in some measure to the truth of who I am and am contributing every day to the fulfillment of my life’s purpose: the spiritual regeneration of humanity, with the bonus that it is happening in a community dedicated to the same purpose.

Yes I am mindful of your admonition, Misty: “Don’t let your current level of ‘success’ define who you are.” I am not sitting passively back at this point in my life and just killing time before it kills me. Every day is an adventure in discovering and bringing the gifts that I have come on earth to bring. Learning is occurring and my soul is evolving.
